You can choose from a wide variety of courses built around real-life skills such as introducing yourself, ordering at a restaurant, giving compliments, and more. It's all here so you can cut through boring grammar lessons and get to the functional skills you're dreaming about.
So, how should you get started?
Setting Your Level
When you first log in you'll tell us your level. How much of your language do you already know? If you're starting from scratch select Absolute Beginner, or use the guidelines to tell us where you fall between Beginner and Advanced. You can always change your level if things seem too challenging or too easy!
Your Dashboard
With your level set, it's time to learn! You'll find your Learning Path added to your Dashboard, ready to study.
What's the Dashboard? It's your home base for all your language learning. This is where you can save the Pathways you want to learn and get back to where you left off. You start with one Learning Path that is designed to help you level up your language. Simply follow that Learning Path to make balanced progress toward fluency.
Click the Study button to start with the first lesson. When you're done with a lesson, mark it complete. Your Dashboard always points you to the next lesson in line!

Lesson Library
The Learning Path for your level is our recommendation for making fast progress, but be sure to explore the extensive Lesson Library for other content that matches your interests. You can find in-depth discussions of common situations, survival phrases, and vocabulary builders, as well as cultural insights, travel tips, and just-for-fun videos. Add any collection to your Dashboard to keep track.

Interacting with Tutors
Here's the top tip for language learning success: practice learning your language every opportunity you can get. And you get a lot of opportunities!
Every lesson has a comments section for asking questions or practicing the material. Ask any question you have about the lesson or how to apply it to your own life, and get a response quickly.
The other way to practice is with our assessments, included in the Learning Paths automatically added to your Dashboard. Multiple choice assessments are graded immediately and give you an opportunity to quickly practice what you've learned. Hand-graded assessments are a Premium PLUS feature where your language tutor checks your written or spoken answers and gives custom feedback.
Finally, there's My Teacher, a Premium PLUS feature. With My Teacher, you have a personal tutor who can answer any of your questions, suggest learning materials, practice dialogues, and give feedback on your speaking and writing.
